Saturday Mornings

For a year now, I have been on a quest to acquire more skills to what I do professionally and it was a tough call for me in 2013 trying to decide what I should do. I understood my weaknesses and then I decided to strengthen them so as to be well rounded.

I go to Aptech Computer Education every Saturday morning to study for several hours but one of the highlights for me every Saturday morning is the trip down to school. I tune the radio to 97.3 Classic FM and Sly whose presence always made such trips a memorable one was suddenly missed again. His hip hop classics are sing alongs while road users who don't understand the era I am from would never understand the feeling I get as I bump my head to the beat of pure old school rap.

After school sometimes every Saturday morning, I either head back home to my family or just drive to Orange Academy where I impact knowledge on some others who are trying to enter fully into the industry I am trying to leave. Sometimes I just have to be in the office doing what I was born to do (Art direct and design).

Anyway, I was in class today to teach my students about Design elements but we were engrossed in trying to arrange typefaces for some poems they had written. We didn't have the best of resources though but we improvised and it was a lot of cutting, tearing from old magazines, littering the entire studio. It was fun sharing just one meat pie and sausage roll too.
