Posters Designed For A Cause

Posters Designed For A Cause

PD-FAC is a collection of artworks, and posters I have designed since 2013.
Some of these works were responses to societal ills, expressions of experiences I observed in my environment, while some were just rejected works that I made better.

Since 2019, I have noticed a wide skill gap within the creative industry so I started a human development programme called Think Like A Designer in order to help build capacity in young creatives, designers, craftsmen, entrepreneurs and to teach them how to apply design principles using design thinking methodologies to create solutions (products or services) that can add great value to Africans and develop Africa.

A lot of young people are interested in the programme but cannot afford it. For this reason, I decided to collaborate with Xaine Ingenius to sell out some of my most amazing works as NFTs and use some of the proceeds to train them for free and develop the programme further.

I look forward to your support and partnership to help raise quality creative, innovative and design leaders in Africa.

Ifipa Bani Lopo

Ifipa Bani Lopo

PD-FAC 2022/01 (Posters Designed For A Cause)
“I Ba Lopo” in Yoruba means sex while “Ifipa Bani Lopo” means Rape. The difference is obvious and this poster personifies the shame and stigma that sticks with rape victims.

Mad Danfo

Mad Danfo

PD-FAC 2022/02 (Posters Designed For A Cause)
Lagos, Nigeria is plagued with many yellow-painted buses marked with one or two black lines. When you drive in Lagos, these buses must be avoided as much as possible. This is one of the features that give Lagos its unique character as a city.

Lagos 2082

Lagos 2082

PD-FAC 2022/04 (Posters Designed For A Cause)
I imagined what a part of Lagos would be like in 2082. With the continuous sand filling of the Lagoon to build houses along the third mainland bridge, I envision a waterless Lagos with a large UFO watching us all from above. Some of us might be living in the sky by then.

Created in 2013, revised in 2021. This is my first attempt at typography art. It was a personal rendition of the popular phrase when it went viral and became an internet sensation in 2013.

185

185

PD-FAC 2022/06 (Posters Designed For A Cause)
In 2013, Boko haram killed about 185 persons in Boma, Maiduguri.
This poster was my first attempt to use a poster (the first of the black and red series) to create awareness and address a major issue hoping that such an act of terrorism would end. If only posters could save us and make us better people.

Oro (Word)

Oro (Word)

PD-FAC 2022/08 (Posters Designed For A Cause)
